While everybody wants a puppy, there’s a certain value in taking in a foster or rescue. So unless you’re dead set on a newborn baby Poodle, may I recommend you avoid all of the puppy training and check first with your local rescue group of your local shelter?
We are not big time breeders. We only breed when we need a new show puppy, have enough puppy requests, or to prevent the loss of a good pedigree line. Thus, ApricotGold puppies are not often available. We do not breed just to sell puppies or to see how many champions we can produce.
We breed for the betterment of the breed concentrating on health and temperament first. Genetic Testing and certification is done on all of our show and breeding dogs. These include Hips, eyes, skin, thyroid, DNA for VWD and blood work.
We do this in the hopes that with our careful and selective breeding along with our health testing we can avoid passing on genetic problems.
Puppies are available from time to time. We will strive to announce our upcoming or present litters on our website. To find out what puppies we may have or may be planning to have, be sure you come back and visit regularly.
Our Poodles are purebred, solid colored, with only the proper variation of shade according to the AKC standards. Our poodles can all be registered through the AKC. We NEVER mix or cross breed with other breeds to produce ‘designer breeds’. We also never allow our sires to be used for such purposes!
All of our pups are placed on contract, and are never sold for breeding stock, with the exception of show quality puppies that are placed with reputable show kennels. Pet puppies are placed with spay/neuter contracts, and an AKC limited registration.
Placement is dependent upon many factors, and an application is required for consideration for an ApricotGold puppy. Although there is no guarantee that placement of a puppy will happen with your application, you are more than welcome to apply at any time.
